Human rights due diligence is a series of processes that include identifying any adverse human rights impact associated with a company and preventing or mitigating potential risks to human rights. The Daicel Group has established a clear human rights policy in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and has been conducting human rights due diligence since FY2020/3 based on accepted procedures in these principles. The Daicel Group's human rights due diligence is conducted to address various human rights and labor issues and strive to reduce risks, with a focus on “the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining,” “abolition of forced labor," “elimination of child labor," “elimination of discrimination in 7799908拉斯维加斯网站登陆 of employment and occupation," and “safe and healthy working environment," as set forth by the International Labour Organization (ILO) as core labor standards.

Our human rights due diligence process for Group companies consists of risk investigation and assessment; prevention, mitigation or corrective and remedial actions; monitoring; and information disclo7799908拉斯维加斯网站登陆re.
For the first step in the process, risk investigation and assessment, we have been sending questionnaires on human rights and labor practices to Group companies in Japan and overseas and have been conducting interviews based on their 7799908拉斯维加斯网站登陆onses to the questionnaire.
In addition to the questionnaire, we request Group companies to submit substantiating documents as necessary. These documents cor7799908拉斯维加斯网站登陆ond to the risk assessment checklist, and we implement a more detailed risk assessment through document checks and interviews.
In FY2024/3, risk assessments were conducted for 75.4% of all business sites within the Daicel Group, and there were cases where corrective actions were requested for Daicel Group companies (2.3% of the sites where risk assessments were conducted). However, during the human rights due diligence, we found several issues of concern such as Group company 7799908拉斯维加斯网站登陆onses to revisions in local laws and regulations in each country, and observance of the statutory employment rate of persons with disabilities. We will continue to address these issues with appropriate countermeasures.

Initiatives for the 7799908拉斯维加斯网站登陆pply Chain
The Daicel Group promotes initiatives that ensure 7799908拉斯维加斯网站登陆 for human rights across its supply chain by addressing human rights and labor practices in the Daicel Group Purchasing Guidelines, in addition to its Human Rights Policy.
By FY2023/3, the Daicel Group had distributed Certificates of Confirmation to 768 of Daicel’s major suppliers (accounting for over 85% of total procurement) for the understanding and penetration of the Daicel Group Purchasing Guidelines (Established in June 2018, and revised to the Daicel Group Procurement Guidelines in February 2024), and we received signatures from 678 companies (7799908拉斯维加斯网站登陆onse rate of 88%). In addition, since FY2021/3, we have instituted a rule that requires new suppliers to sign a Certificate of Confirmation and the 7799908拉斯维加斯网站登陆onse rate from new suppliers has been 100%.
In FY2025/3, we plan to distribute Certificates of Confirmation for the revised Daicel Group Procurement Guidelines and start requesting signatu7799908拉斯维加斯网站登陆.
We also ask major 7799908拉斯维加斯网站登陆ppliers to complete a Self-Assessment-Questionnaire (SAQ) on CSR procurement, which includes assessment of human rights and labor practices, to identify any human rights risks in our 7799908拉斯维加斯网站登陆pply chain.
In addition to these Certificate of Confirmation and requests to complete SAQ on CSR procurement, we have also launched an initiative focused on human rights. Following the philosophy of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, we once more prepared risk mapping and identified areas where we should prioritize actions. We also provide an opportunity for people to learn about human rights through educational materials on corporate compliance, which we distribute to the entire Group companies every month.
